Winery: Viña MontGras Wine: Reserva Syrah Region: Colchagua Valley, Chile Grape: 100% Syrah
Vinification & Aging
- Process: The grapes are harvested and selected, then fermented in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperatures, which allows for optimal extraction of color and aromas.
- Aging: Approximately 60% of the wine is aged in oak barrels (a mix of French and American) for a period of 6 to 8 months. The remaining 40% stays in stainless steel tanks to preserve the freshness of the fruit. This process adds complexity, structure, and softens the tannins.

Tasting Notes
- Appearance: A deep and brilliant ruby-red color with intense violet hues.
- Nose (Aroma): Very expressive, with a complex aromatic profile. Notes of ripe black fruit such as blackberry, blueberry, and plum stand out, accompanied by the characteristic spicy notes of Syrah, like black pepper and a touch of smoked meat. The barrel aging contributes elegant notes of chocolate, vanilla, and coffee.
- Palate (Taste): A well-bodied, structured, and balanced wine. The tannins are firm and round, and the acidity provides a touch of freshness. The black fruit and spice notes are confirmed on the palate, leading to a long and persistent finish.
