Jim Beam is one of the best-selling brands of bourbon in the world. It has been produced in Clermont, Kentucky, since 1795, with seven generations of the Beam family involved in its history.
It is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, meaning it is made from a mash bill of at least 51% corn (along with rye and malted barley), distilled in Kentucky, and aged in new, charred oak barrels. Jim Beam ages its bourbon for four years, twice the legal requirement. The brand is known for using the same strain of yeast since the end of Prohibition and for using Kentucky’s naturally limestone-filtered water.
The result is a bourbon with a mellow, medium-bodied flavor profile, featuring notes of vanilla, oak, and a spicy backdrop.
