Moët & Chandon Rosé Impérial: A Vibrant & Seductive Champagne
Rosé Impérial is the most extroverted and seductive expression of the Moët & Chandon style. As an icon of celebration since 1743, the House crafts this radiant rosé to be a spontaneous and alluring Champagne, distinguished by its bright fruitiness, a tantalizing palate, and an elegant maturity.
Tasting Notes
- Eye: A glowing and radiant pink color, adorned with amber and copper highlights. The bubbles are fine, lively, and persistent.
- Nose: An intense and bewitching bouquet. A lively burst of fresh red summer fruits (wild strawberry, raspberry, cherry) is followed by delicate floral nuances of rose and a subtle hint of black pepper.
- Palate: The palate is flamboyant and combines intensity with suppleness. The fleshy, juicy texture of red fruits (strawberry, raspberry, redcurrant) is complemented by the firmness of peach and a fresh, subtle note of mint and minerals on the finish.
Craftsmanship & The Blend
The vibrant character of Rosé Impérial is crafted from a precise blend dominated by Pinot Noir, chosen for its intensity and structure.
- Pinot Noir: 40 to 50% (of which 10% is still red wine to provide color and spice)
- Pinot Meunier: 30 to 40% (for richness and a supple texture)
- Chardonnay: 10 to 20% (for an elegant, crisp finish)
The final cuvée is aged for a minimum of 24 months in the cellars to develop its mature, balanced character.
Food Pairing
While an excellent aperitif, Rosé Impérial’s structure allows it to pair beautifully with a variety of dishes:
- Seafood: Grilled shellfish, shrimp, or tuna carpaccio.
- Meats: Thinly sliced prosciutto, beef carpaccio, or grilled chicken.
- Vegetable Dishes: Ratatouille or fresh Mediterranean salads.
- Cheese & Fruit: Pairs wonderfully with fresh goat cheese, mozzarella, and a platter of fresh red fruits.
